The hotel Rigel is only few minutes away from the Venice Lido, a small, cosy 3 star family management hotel, you will appreciate the homely welcoming feeling, thanks also to the beautiful flower garden.
The hotel Rigel, built in the
60's, is situated on one of the most important islands of Venice. Its
importance and uniqueness are due to being the only one facing the
Adriatic Sea on one side and on the other the basin of St. Mark's, just
before the historical Square of St.Mark's, centre of the ancient
Republic of Venice.
Another
characteristic that makes it unique, compared to all other islands of
the Lagoon, is the possibility to reach it by car, avoiding problems
and costs of car-parking either in Mestre (mainland) or at the
Tronchetto (car-park). Owing
to its modest size and the direct presence of the owners in the
management, Hotel Rigel guarantees particular attention to the warm
welcome of its guests and the staff do all they can to ensure a welcome
that not only offers their guests great professionalism but also lets
them feel a little less like tourists and more as if they were at home.
The building is surrounded by a cosy garden offering a calm and peaceful place to relax after a full day touring of Venice or after a night trying one's luck at the Casino.
In the hall of Hotel Rigel there is an internet point clients can use
to read their e-mail or to go on-line, depending on their needs.
Hotel
Rigel also has a limited number of bicycles its clients may rent,
either for the day or for their whole stay, upon request.
The hotel has been recently renovated and counts a total of 42 rooms on three floors connected by lift. Rooms are furnished with taste in modern style, luminous, some with balcony all equipped with every comfort.
La Veneziana: this room is furnished in the typical Venetian style recalling the
luxury and elegance of the City in the '700 at the height of its
splendour when painters, musicians such as Canaletto, Guardi, Vivaldi,
etc. were living and performing here. Without
a doubt, with its Baroque lines and lacquered colours this is the room
that best represents the spirit and style of the Venice that is so
often depicted in the books, paintings and films of all periods.
La Diplomatica: the modern furniture of this room, the small balcony and its silence, make it a favourite of politicians and businessmen staying with us. The room owes its name to the fact it was the favourite with a long-standing client in the hotel who held important posts as representative of the French government in the city for years.
La Rosa: this is surely one of the most romntic rooms of the hotel, The soft lines and the colours of the furniture will welcome you with a reserved charm and discreet quiet that are a unique characteristics of our hotel. This is the room that is usually reserved for couples on their honeymoon, or for lovers who wish to spend several nights in the city of beauty and love.
L'Orientale: this is no doubt the most exotic room in the hotel recalling the taste of the Turkish civilisation that, in spite of being the most dangerous antagonist of Venice both in politics and commerce, influenced its art and culture. The oriental-style arches of the headpieces that were typical of Oriental culture evoke those of the “Fondaco dei Turchi”, the site used by the Venetian Republic in the ‘700-‘800 for commercial trade with merchants from those lands.
The Hotel offers all Clients morning breakfast. Restaurant service is foreseen for groups only. A Buffet breakfast includes croissants and/or brioches and rolls, all freshly baked at sunrise for guests each morning. Breakfast also includes Biscuits, toasted bread, various yoghurts, fruit in syrup, Corn Flakes and other cereals, orange juice. Upon request, for a small supplement, hotel clients may also have a more substantial breakfast with cheese, ham and other cold cuts and egg.
The hotel is at walking distance from the Public Boat Services, running every ten minutes during the day and every half or hour during the night, connecting Lido with a 12/15 minutes sail to St.Mark's.

Arriving by train: from S.Lucia Station you can choose the folllowing: to use the public boat, line 51, (cost about 3,00 euro per person) boarding it just outside the train staion and after about a 35 minutes ride you disembark at S.M.Elisabetta (Lido stop) ; to use a private water taxi (cost about 40,00 euro) positioned on the left outside the train station: this way is surely faster (about 15 minutes to the Lido) but also more expensive
Arriving by car/coach: if you decide to reach the hotel by car/coach just follow the signs "Venezia-Lido, imbarco Ferry Boat" situated at the end of the long bridge connecting Venice to the mainland: the ferry boat line is N. 17, it runs every 40/50 minutes (cost varies depending on size of car/coach). The ferry takes 30/35 minutes to reach the Lido. You also have also the possibility to park the car/coach in the garages of Piazzale Roma or Tronchetto terminals. In this case you can take respectively the Public Boat line 51 or 82 (cost about 3 euro per person).
Arriving by plane: from Marco Polo airport you can choose : to use the public boat "Alilaguna" running almost every hour which will get you to the Lido in about 50 minutes at a cost of about 10,00 euro per person or to use the a private water taxi that will get you to the Lido in about 20 minutes at the indicative cost of 45,00 euro.

Hotel Rigel a more interesting option than staying in mestre. you'll need a transport pass, but room rates are low enough that it more than works out compared to staying in venice. i'd stay again. small rooms, large breakfast.

Hotel Rigel Super Ausgangspunkt zum Erkunden von Venedig. Hier kann man einen angenehmen Badeurlaub mit einer kulturellen Städtereise ideal kombinieren. Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis ist sehr gut. Sollte man mit dem Auto zum Hotel fahren, dann ist es ratsam vorher telefonisch einen Parkplatz zu reservieren, da Vorort nur sehr wenige zur Verfügung stehen. Ansonsten lässt man das Auto am besten im Tronchetto stehen. Das Frühstück war etwas dürftig bestückt, aber für ein verlängertes Wochenende ist es sehr in Ordnung - zu diesen Preisen haben wir auch kein 5 Sterne Frühstück erwartet! Alles in allem kann ich dieses kleine und ruhige Hotel sehr empfehlen.

Hotel Rigel Best way to stay in Venice for less money! The area is nice and safe and the beach is close. I definately recommend it. What I missed at breakfast was ham and that things, I don´t want the sweet things all the time. I know for this price you can´t expect a bigger range, but maybe they should change from day to day.

Hotel Rigel Wonderful friendly English speaking staff, smallish but clean and comfortable room, and a good breakfast. Excellent value, especially for Venice. Only 10 minutes from San Marco.

Hotel Rigel Había algunos bichitos en el dormitorio que vimos por la pared la mañana que madrugamos. Las paredes tienen manchas que dan a entender que a otros inquilinos anteriores tampoco le gustaron estos bichitos y también los aplastaron. Algún resto de telaraña por las paredes. El baño sí estaba limpio. Para desayunar a gusto es mejor ir a cualquier cafetería. El precio es el adecuado para un hotel de 4 estrellas, la calidad está a la altura de la de una pensión.

Hotel Rigel Nos dieron la peor habitacion del hotel con camas bien separadas. Fue decepcionante. Al final la ultima noche nos cambiaron por una mejor.

Hotel Rigel La situation de l'hôtel est excellente pour visiter Venise et pour aller à la plage. Les chambres sont toujours propres.

Hotel Rigel hôtel agréable, bien situé et proche de l'embarcadère. le personnel est très agréable et prêt à rendre service. les chambres sont propres et le prix est tout à fait convenable les petits déjeuners sont copieux et le service est fait avec délicatesse.

Hotel Rigel Hotel accueillant, situé à 5 minutes a pieds de l'arrêt du vaporetto dans une rue très calme. Le trajet jusqu'à la place St Marc dure ensuite 10 minutes. Très bon petit déjeuner qu'on peut prendre dehors sous la tonelle ou à l'intérieur. Beaucoup de choix. bon rapport qualité-prix. Le seul point critiquable serait les discussions un peu bruyantes des femmes de ménage dès 8h30 (mais tout le monde sait que les Italiens parlent fort!). A recommander.
