By sea: the Eolian Islands are located in the Province of Messina and can be reached by boat from several ports Milazzo is by far the nearest on the Sicilian coast and multiple connections are available daily by ferry or jetfoil. During the winter season (from October through late May), ferry service operates from Naples and Milazzo and jetfoils from Milazzo, Messina e Reggio Calabria During the summer season (from June through early September), the number of services increases by ferry from Milazzo and from Naples, by jetfoil from Milazzo, Messina, Reggio Calabria, Palermo, Capo d'Orlando, Naples.
By air: the nearest airport by far to the Eolian Islands is that of Reggio Calabria, from the airport there is a bus service for Messina with flight connections, jetfoil then proceed directly to the islands. Alternatively you can reach Milazzo by bus (via Messina) and continue by jetfoil from Milazzo Alternative airport Catania, offering more connections to the mayor European capitals.
