The Hotel Acquaverde in Via Balbi occupies the last three storeys of a late-seventeenth-century aristocratic building, later inhabited by families belonging to the rich merchant class of Genoa.
Currently the building accommodates several offices as well as the hotel. There are still signs of its past splendour: some interesting Baroque frescoes can still be seen on the ceiling of some of the rooms.
Because of its central position, the hotel welcomes guests from all backgrounds: university students and business people, travelling employees as well as Italian and foreign tourists have a relaxing time in our hotel, while our kind staff help them to know and enjoy Genoa, its history and sights.
The young enterprising proprietors have been managing the premises for 10 years, always trying to improve and consolidate the business, thanks to their commitment to upgrade and develop the interesting features of the structure, in order to guarantee a pleasant stay to any type of Customer.
The hotel has 27 rooms, four of which have cooking facilities; all of them offer: bathroom complete with hair-dryer (some are equipped with a shower or hydro-massage), TVC and TV- Satellite, Air conditioning, Mini-bar, Safe, Telephone with direct line.
Several of the larger rooms are especially suited for disabled people.
The Hotel Acquaverde is open all year round; it has a Restaurant and Breakfast room.
Via Balbi is in the city centre, leading directly to the Principe railway station; moreover, it is very near the Old Harbour, the Ferry Terminal and the Underground. The Royal Palace and several University Faculties are also situated in this street.
It is worth mentioning that the Hotel Acquaverde is located near the following tourist sites:
- The Aquarium, the Old Harbour and the Magazzini del Cotone Conference Centre [10 min. on foot]
- The main Exhibition Hall ( Genoa Boat Show, Euroflora, etc.) [ 10 min. by public transport]
- Palace of Prince Doria-Pamphili [ 5 min. on foot]
- Via Garibaldi ( Palazzo Bianco, Palazzo Rosso, Town Hall, etc.) [10 min. on foot]
- Ducal Palace and Carlo Felice Theatre [ 20 min. on foot or 5 min. by bus]
- "L. Ferraris" Stadium [ 15 min. by bus]
The famous Cinque Terre, as well as Santa Margherita and Portofino can be reached in a very short time, not only by train or car, but also by boat, with ferries leaving from the Old Harbour for beautiful trips along the coast.
The "Cristoforo Colombo" airport is only 5 km. away, and it is easily reachable by public transport.

By train: Genova Principe railway station. After walking out of the station, cross Piazza Acquaverde keeping to the left. Via Balbi is the first street in front of you and the Hotel Acquaverde is at number 29, just after the chemist's. There is another important railway station in Genoa (Genova Brignole), which is about 5 minutes from the hotel by car.
By boat: Stazione Marittima. The nearest exit from the harbour is by the Stazione Marittima. Just cross the road and walk straight on for about 200 m. until the crossroads, then turn right in Via Andrea Doria. Follow this road until Piazza Acquaverde, where you will see to your left the entrance of the Principe railway station and to the right the beginning of Via Balbi. Number 29 is the first on the left.

Hotel Acquaverde We were travelling from Venice to Genova by train and the hotel was easy to find from the train station. Our rooms were tidy, clean and simply furnished. We enjoyed breakfast.

Hotel Acquaverde Good value for money, i was very happy about my choice. My room was cozy and nicely decorated. Good, central location. It might look a bit dated at first sight but it provides a good service.

Hotel Acquaverde I booked it because i needed to stay near the harbour. Room seemed a bit dated but clean and comfortable. Reception staff were kind and always keen to help.

Hotel Acquaverde I am very happy with the service, it is a 2 star hotel, centrally located. Rooms are basic but comfortable, i liked the way the bathroom is furnished and decorated. I'd stay here again.

Hotel Acquaverde I was travelling to Genoa on a business trip. The hotel fully met my requirements. Clean room. The front desk staff were all very competent and kind.

Hotel Acquaverde My daughter and i stayed here after our holiday in the cinque terre region, as we wanted to visit the acquarium. The hotel is close to the city centre, clean and with good rates.

Hotel Acquaverde The hotel is ideally located for the old town, the harbour and one of the main train stations. The staff at the hotel were very sweet and welcoming.

Hotel Acquaverde Map directions are poor, looks to be far further from station than it is, I walked past the hotel twice expecting it to be much further from station. Room originally allocated had a problem so had to be changed to room with shared bathroom, I wasn't happy about that but staff did everything possible to make up for it, including reduced price and free breakfast, they staff were wonderful.

Hotel Acquaverde Helpful staff. Replace light bulb in room immediately when requested. No instructions in room for how to use air conditioning. Traffic noise from the street is high for this room. Had to open window because couldn't get a/c working, this increased traffic noise.

Hotel Acquaverde Hôtel simple dans immeuble ancien bien situé à deux pas de la gare centrale de Gênes. Chambre simple avec coin toilette et douche sans fenêtre , mais avec ventilation. Hôtel bien tenu et chambres soignées.
